911 CENTER - YOU NEED TO READ THIS !

FLASH

MOTOLOA CONSOLE / RADIO PROBLEMS AGAIN

It was reported early this AM that 911 IS TALKING but the radios in the field were not hearing them.

911, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THIS !

You are indeed getting out. What they mean by “you are not getting out” is that they are not hearing you, signal is good but NO AUDIO. That is NOT THE CASE !

You are being heard in the Booger Blah-ger Cave. I see each and every time you transmit on my computer and I know what console you are using. Your voice is LOUD AND CLEAR !

The cars at that domestic incident (would rather not comment on the incident) reported the radio problem to you by phone AND via Radio. The last time was at 03:27:22 hours local time, and you were on console transmit ID # 2778. The radios reporting this to you were ID’s # 22091 and # 22093 from Vandergrift. Tony (I believe) was the dispatcher and was relieved by the pretty young voice (Patty ?) on that same console at 03:38:26 hours.

They didn’t seem to have a problem hearing her ? (not going to be stupid here as Mark or Rich might want this information for Staley Communications… I’ll get stupid later, thank you.)

More than likely it is with the Vandergrift radios and a quick reboot of their radios might have cured that problem however I WOULD CALL STALEYS Sunday morning. That is why we have a 24/7 service contract ! At least call Joe N. and tell him about it, maybe he will call his old friend, this Blah-ger in return when the problem is fixed.

Now, that is all the super serious stuff... I can start turbo blah-gging now.

REORGANIZATION OF TALKGROUPS (TG)

No one has ask for this, I am only suggesting it. Why you may ask. BECAUSE I CAN, haven’t you learned anything from reading this yet. I have a better plan that I want 911 to look at.

I will give you a brief idea of how I think the talkgroups should be. Look at the example below and the changes I’ve made, then you can change them countywide. Ok 911 ?

TALKGROUP........CURRENTLY...........CHANGE TO
64.........................District 4 Police........Latrobe Police Ops / Dispatch
65.........................District 4 TAC 2........Derry Police Ops / Dispatch
66.........................District 4 TAC 3........New Florence, Seward, Ops / Dispatch
67.........................District 4 TAC 4........Ligonier Borough and Twp. Ops / Dispatch
68.........................District 4 TAC 5........Bolivar and St. Clair Twp. Ops / Dispatch
370.......................Not Used...................District 4 TAC 2
371........................Not Used...................District 4 TAC 3
372.......................Not Used...................District 4 TAC 5

In that example each area would have their own “frequency” HOWEVER they could switch-over to their friends in District 4 land anytime to talk to each other. That way it would give the City of Trobe more breathing space of their own, Ligonier and Ligonier Twp. would have some extra room / space to run their speed traps too.

Should they wish to go back to howzit was for a day, they could all meet on TG64 and pretend the switch never happened ! Again the Booger Blah-ger has good advice for 911 !

I could redo the entire system the correct way, the way it should have been done in the first place if you wish, just let me know. I'll set down with the executive board (Myself - Scotty J. - and GMan) and we'll do it right. By now I KNOW you have my phone number, just call ...

CHANNEL 4 ACTION FOR YOU, ON 2

Finally something happens in District 4 !

Most of the time I’m writing about Districts 1, 5 or 9 while the guys in my own district get away. There is a reason for this. District 4 Police are boring ! Please don’t take that as saying that they aren’t doing their jobs as I’m sure they are, they just aren’t funny. Nothing to write about !

When is the last time Latrobe Police found a golf cart ? How about calling the chief “da man” and getting away with it ? Or Derry Police ordering food from McDonalds over the police radio ? Ligonier Police talking about the movies they watched on TV the night before ? That just doesn’t happen in District 4.

Well, last night and into this morning the St. Clair Township Police pulled over a car for a routine traffic stop. Shortly afterwards he found out that there were 4 intoxicated occupants in the vehicle !

The lone officer of the law found himself up against 4 drunks (or otherwise – ACT 64) and he immediately called for backup. Several other agencies offered to respond but only the services of Ligonier Towhship Police were then accepted.

While Ligonier Township Police Car 4-70 was on his way to assist, St. Clair Township Car 4-90 requested the assistance of two males in a White Truck that just happened to be passing by. Very interesting. I have NEVER heard that before from District 1, 5 or 9 Police Departments. Deputizing Civilians !! St. Clair has one up on you.

I don’t believe any of the occupants were wanted by the police (30’s checked, ok on my computer connected to NiCUC2) however a field sobriety test was given to the driver and possible all the occupants in the pulled over vehicle. 4 prisoners in custody, 4 people that couldn't stand !
= = = =
Damn, if Nunz only knew how I use to drive... or maybe he did ? Coming up on my 5 year anniversary of no booze. Now I'm only goofy and silly, but not drunk.

WAY TO GO ST. CLAIR TWP.!

DERRY POLICE VS A PONTIAC

Yet another car, this time a Pontiac attempted to tip toe past the watchful eyes of Car 4-20, Borough of Derry Police without being seen last night. Not only did Car 4-20 see this Pontiac, but Officer Greg also noticed something wrong and attempted a traffic stop. The stop turned into a start as the vehicles began to travel faster !

Why in the world would anyone want to run from the police, the Derry Police ! Beats the bodongos out of me but RUN is exactly what they did.

Speeds were reported OVER 110 miles per hour !

Latrobe and Blairsville (Indiana County) Police were put on alert as Greg chased these low lives out of the Borough on Route 217 North. Although Greg lost the Pontiac after only a few minutes I’m sure he was thinking “they are not so brave now” !

As it turns out, Blairsville DID stop that car and Derry PD drove over to make the identification ! Good Job Greg !!

MUTUAL AID AMBULACE SERVICE (MAAS)

MAAS again has been using the new 800 Mhz Frequencies and could be heard on their own Talkgroup (TG) 276 and their different ambulance services would answer. That is usually how it goes, someone calls and someone answers.

Here at the Booger Cave it seems some days I call out and no one answers ! Especially if the calls are to the Westmoreland County Department of Emergency Management. Anyhow, before I get my hair in an uproar I’ll give it until at least Tuesday because of the holiday. This Blah-ger is hungry for some public information that seems to be hard to find. Bill probably has it hidden behind his console, never know !

Perhaps Tuesday I’ll have a big scoop for you, as well as a burger and fries.

OFFICAL BUSINESS

Today was the first (or second or third) organizational meeting of the Booger Blah-g Committee. Nothing to report as I sat here all morning long and watched movies. This Afternoodle I did chat with GMan as he and eye watched the new numbers go by on our PRO96COM screens.

We fingered that between the two of us we have put together the best and biggest download list for the Westmoreland County 800 Mhz Radio System, bar none ! Our lists will vary very little and when they do it is most likely the speling. See, I no how to spill hand he don’test.

IT’S THE THIRD, GET READY FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY !
