STUFF

Another day of listening and recording… pulling some interesting audio clips off my Master Booger Blah-gers Hard Drive for posting on the Web Server.

While sitting here at my genuine oak simulated desk I heard an ambulance call where the ambulance and the 911 Dispatch Center were not hearing each other.

This still amazes me that I can hear both sides of a conversation with my $499 Radio Shack scanner BUT 911 with their MILLIONS of Dollar$ of tax payer bought equipment cannot.

I posted that clip on my website under audio clips. Thank God the Ambulance wasn’t talking to the hospital Medical Command and trying to get Medication Orders !

I hope everyone had a chance to read the Phoenix Report. I posted that link to my Blah-g yesterday. The RADIO SYSTEM we have now is recommended for dispatching, not critical passing of information ! Sometimes I wonder if it’s even good for dispatching.

I also found a quick quote along with part of a funny conversation that followed, I believe it was from District 5 Police. That was posted also.

So as of this writing I have two new audio clips posted, which brings the audio clip total to Twenty Two. Not bad for this old booger (doesn’t that bring nice thoughts into your head ?).

SYSTEM

I’m not sure what ONE thing Motorola (Staley) is working on now however rest assured that Federal Express DOES work, and an order was delivered to them today.

Now if they can get the right parts into the right locations and the right equipment, maybe the system won’t CRASH this weekend and perhaps the Dispatchers will be able to hear the Cars calling them.

Perhaps it’s something simple, like a Diode with a Pimple, or the Canooder value not releasing enough gas into the Canon Flange at the tower site in New Ken, or maybe sucking up too much gas through the Lipshit Duct into the Fromby Gear at the Trobe site ? Maybe the spark plugs need changed on Mark’s radio ?

I know, these radios were not meant to be mounted in Police Cars… they were meant to be worn !

Motorola received an order of Bigger Pants for the Cops !?

Mind you, these are only guesses.

INTERESTING LISTENING

Derry Township had a fire at the ALVAC Corp. last night where Bradenville, Derry, Latrobe and a few other Fire Departments were dispatched.

All companies were dispatched, all companies acknowledged and responded and 911 Assigned a TAC CHANNEL for operations.

So, where were all the critical transmissions made ?

ON 154.385 Mhz LATROBE FIRE DEPARTMENT’S RADIO SYSTEM FREQUENCY, NOT THE 800 MHZ TAC CHANNEL ASSIGNED.

I guess that tells you what type of communications those companies trust. The good old VHF Analog FM Repeater, that’s what type.

Interesting…

RADIOS UP / RADIOS DOWN

I reported a day or so ago that New Ken had some NEW radios that needed replaced already. Well, they were replaced BUT now Medic 116’s Base Station is Out Of Service ! One up, one down.

I wonder if there was a radio swap in there somewhere ?
