I N F O

Good Morning !

I have to ask my readers a question which I believe I have the answer to, but it was best decided that asking it here would get the most results.

Is there any Police, EMS or Fire Departments that did NOT receive ANY 800 Mhz Radios at all from the Homeland Security and County Grant ?

I don't mean "not enough" radios. None of the departments received as many radios as they should have, but I mean NONE. This is in reference to the FREE radios given out during the county grant !

If your department is without 800 Mhz radios, please contact me immediately ! All information received will be kept confidential.

Another point that was brought up during our first meeting was the issue of PORTABLE RADIOS for FIRE departments as each person entering a fire should be equipped with a portable radio.

If you are a Chief (assn't Chief, etc) of a WC (Westmoreland County) fire department and you do NOT have enough portables for your firefighters, could you please advise how many radios you WERE GIVEN DURING THE GRANT, how many you HAD TO BUY, your TOTAL now AND how many MORE YOU NEED.

Example of a response:
Howard Elementary / Level Plains FIRE DEPARMENT
Rec'd via Grant 5
Purchased 5
Total 10
Need 15 more

Please respond ASAP as this information is critical to the investigation.
news@k3sam.com is the email address to use.

We would also like the ability to contact your station if possible. If you could provide a contact name and number, that would be appreciated however that is optional (as always). Again, this information will be strictly confidential.

I know everyone was busy this morning with trees and wires down however the sooner you respond the quicker we can gather our information for our report.

Also, if no one told you... Yesterday at Noon All ZONE 4 Fire Departments Switched to 800 Mhz as well as MON VALLEY.

So you now have many more trains running on this railroad however no additional tracks were added to handle the traffic... if you follow my analogy. No, how about allowing 100 people into a council meeting where the room only seats 50 ? Is that any better ?

Thanks !

DECODED,
K3SAM
