eMails

Normally my friends I would attempt to have a Monday Morning Blah-g for you however this weekend has been very rewarding and busy.

I received more emails this weekend with questions about the 800 Mhz Radio Cyst-em then I have ever received, and each and every one of those were answered. In some cases it took a few "back and forth" emails to make sure the questions were all answered.

The most asked question was "why is there Dead Spots". In some cases the people put two and two together by themselves as you can compare KDKA TV, which operates on a band close to the old 33.70 fire frequecy ( 59.74 Mhz carrier frequency ) to WPGH which operates on the higher ( 709.7600 Mhz carrier frequency ) frequency closest to our 800 Mhz Emergency Management Frequencies.

You can pick up KDKA TV from inside your house with a small indoor antenna however WPGH is much harder to pickup and you have to play with the antenna to find the "perfect" spot to even view it with lines and snow on the screen.

Same principal as with these new super duper pooper scooper Motoroldla Radidios that the county has purchased with all of the 14 Million ( wasted ) dollars of ours and shoved them down the county employees throats.

The police, ems and fire personel carry these hoping to be in the right "perfect" spot when 911 calls so they can hear them.

It also helps to be in the "perfect" spot when they try to transmit or 911 won't hear them.

Anyhow, thanks for all the questions and I hope you have a better idea of how this communications disaster we were forced to use doesn't work.

It's still hard for me to believe that just a handful of dumb people ( dumb because they don't understand electronics and radio theory enough to know 800 Mhz does not work where there is hills and dales, mountain, metal buildings, lots of trees, etc... dumb - dumb - dumb ) decided that this is the BEST CYST-EM for us.

That would be like me telling the Westmoreland County Commissioners that the Dodge Neon was the only car they were allowed to drive BECAUSE that is what I am giving them. The Neon offers bigger wheels, better air conditioning, and a much bigger motor than a Cadillac. I know that because I are well edumacated on that there subject so that is what they have to drive.

Just like the Police Officer said to 911 last week after being told he was on the wrong talkgroup... he said "I don't know what channel I'm on, no display on this damn thing". The 911 operator told him to move the knob "two clicks".

The Police Officer did, but two clicks the wrong way.

Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the Police Officer or the 911 dispatcher... it's the DAMN RADIOS and the CYST-EM we have.

A cop, emt and firefighter should be able to pick up a radio and clearly / easily be able to operate it.

When an EMT has a patient in a house that requires CPR, or a firefighter has to get his lines charged, or a cop is in foot chase... they should not have to worry about being on the WRONG TALK GROUP (channel).

Hey, that's it. Still have audio to finish for you, a Blah-g I was working on, a meeting that is coming up with someone in the Federal Government and, well a bunch of stuff that I HOPE AND PRAY brings an END TO THIS CRAPPY 800 Mhz SHITE and BRINGS THIS COUNTY A GOOD RELIABLE RADIO SYSTEM and TRAINED 911 MANAGEMENT that can afford to purchase their own vehicles and meals !!!!!

Decoded,
