Do Call Me List

Good Day to All !

This Blah-g is going to be a bit different. Oh, how so oh great Blah-ger ?

As I mentioned before, a great deal of the stuff I know I can’t print about but it would curl the toes of a ant... I can’t write about it because 911 Management would know exactly where the information came from. Then those people would be fired.

So I’m going to attempt to expose some of this here without leaving a trail back to the persons that tipped me off. Also I am going to go off the subject of the Wastemoreland Co. Defartment of Pubic Shafty for a bit and talk about life in general. Crap that is floating on top of my cranium.

Might make for an interesting Blah-g as we near the end of 2005.

The cistern has been in service now for over a year and I only know of it being responsible for 2 deaths. That’s not too bad, two people dying because of 800 Meggy Hurts. And to the families of those 2 people that died I’m sure it hurts a hell of a lot, but that's ok 'coz WE GOT A NEW RADIO SYSTEM.

Both incidents have to do with the MEDICS and EMS.

Now, we have some of the best Medics in the world, so it can’t be their fault, so it must have been the DISPATCHERS, right ?

Naw, the dispatchers are fairly good too. As Archie Bunker would have said, “they are irrational” ! So if it’s not the Medics and not the dispatchers, what the hell could cause two people to die ?

Ahh, the Computer Mapping Program maybe ! The Computer Aided Dispatching System, maybe !

YES TO BOTH !!

The Ambulances did not know where to go to help people in trouble, people that counted on pressing those three most important telephone numbers … 9 1 1.

In one case that was reported to me, a totally different ambulance service was dispatched with wrong directions and after about a half an hour someone figured out who should be dispatched. By the time the right ambulance service got on scene the person was dead.

The second time I received an email it was also due to the Computer Mapping Program. This time there was no listing for that address and the computer sucked the information into Dangerville, never to be seen again. CPR was in progress, but no Ambulance. When the 9 1 1 service was called again the shift had changed and the info had to be taken all over again. That person didn’t make it either.

Both of the above items are serious but they are items that I cannot prove, nor will I give up my source. I wasn’t going to post it but I wanted everyone to see that the cyst-em, if not looked at soon COULD KILL AGAIN !

For what we SPEND and SPENT on the CAD ( Computer Aided Dispatch ) system, the Medics should POP out of the phone !

Dan Stevens, who I have written about quite a bit lately, is in charge of that right now. Of course I am only an INTAKE Blah-ger, I only know what people tell me. However you must admit, this Blah-ger has been right on the money since I began and that is only due to all the dispatchers and supervisors that email me regularly, all the fire and police men and ladies that chat on line with me, the Chiefs, the medics, the families of all those mentioned.

Never once (well, the incident with the Darlington Fire Chief was bogus but I caught that one) has anyone feed me false information, and for that I am thankful.

If you wish to call 911 and complain about the Computer Mapping Program, you will have to call 911 on their business number and ask directly for Dan Stevens. I have so many damn private numbers for them I’m not sure which one to publish here on the Blah-g… but I’ll take a chance. I believe Dan can be reached at (724) 600-7300. I have at least a gazillion non-published private numbers for them, but that one is the general one.

Don’t get confuggled at the 600 exchange, that is for Wastemoreland Government, for the most part.

You could even call Commissioner Tom Balya as he approved the Cyst-Em. His number is (724) 830-3100. Make sure you tell him that this Cyst-em is working perfectly as that is all he wants to hear !

We (911) are getting new Computer Mapping Software soon. It is suppose to do about the same, but much faster. Think about that.

Breaking away from 911 for a bit, I have written about my health a few times and it being the reason why I can not post these Blah-g’s every night. I would like to elaborate on that for a moment, as I know that there are quite a few teenagers that read this Blah-g in the Westmoreland County area so Lord knows how many World Wide.

When I was just a wee lad there was what they called the “Friday Night Fights” on ABC. Of course being pre-school age I wasn’t allowed alcoholic beverages (some countries there is actually no law against that) but my father would let me drink the foam from his bottom of Iron City. Even at that age a acquired a taste for beer. In high school we would sneak it in, I had a built in ice box in my very first car hidden from all, including the police. In fact some of my friends had taps in their glove boxes. My point is that I probably drank more beer by the time I was 21 than most adults in their life time.

At about the age of 40 all of that caught up to me. Because of alcohol abuse I now have very little use of my legs, and well, Tons of Problems. The Latrobe Hospital is thinking about naming a wing after me.

(It has been over 5 years since I've touched an alcohol and I've cut down on my smoking.)

If you are reading this and your friends are trying to get you to drink beer, or any other alcohol beverages… just remember me. The same goes for smoking. I also started smoking at an early age and that is why most of my arteries are now clogged. Not a pretty picture. I know I’ve drastically shortened my life as the doctors have told me so. I’ve almost died twice now.

Sorry Rich and Mark but I’m still here for a short while, long enough I hope to get this 911 / 800 Mhz straightened out as you don’t seem to know how.

I have other health problems also however those are normal ones, the type you get as you grow older. Like when you get warts on your forehead and your nose falls off. That kind of stuff.

My hopes are that if just one person that is being pressed to smoke or drink reads this and decides it’s better to go through life sober than stoned. If this has helped you out in any way I would appreciate hearing from you. Please send me an email at news@k3sam.com.

On another topic, is Upper Burrell losing their police force ?

Upper Burrell police: Why not a regional force?
Saturday, December 10, 2005

This week, a resident at the Upper Burrell supervisors' meeting recommended disbanding the police department.

He said last year when both officers were on disability, state police did as good a job as local police in filling in.

But state police don't want to take on any more primary coverage areas. And they may charge communities for it in the future.

So that's probably not the best option for the township. In addition, supervisors said if the township disbands the police department it can't reinstate it for five years.

We'd like to suggest another option for Upper Burrell -- joining neighboring communities to form a regional force.

Allegheny and Washington townships would seem like logical partners. The three townships border each other in Westmoreland County and share similar problems.

They have large rural areas but also have some concentrated areas of denser population.

The Westmoreland County Business and Research Park is located in Upper Burrell and Washington Township. Alcoa Technical Center and the Penn State-New Kensington campus are in Upper Burrell. Allegheny Township has a shopping plaza. And all three are home to new or growing housing plans.

Providing 24-hour police coverage requires four officers and many of our smaller communities can't justify that. But by joining with other communities, they could.

Regional police forces should be the wave of the future for smaller communities. They can save taxpayers money and provide better service by eliminating duplication of equipment and using manpower more effectively.

With the cost of providing employee health-care benefits skyrocketing, municipalities need all the help they can get to provide essential services at a reasonable cost to taxpayers.

So, looks like my friends at 50 (Washington Twp. PD) just might have some extra work coming up. I hope their PAY reflects that !

THREE NEW audio files were posted to my web site, http://800.k3sam.com today, make sure you give a listen.

…and TWO things that I am working on as this goes to press. The first is the use of COUNTY WIDE TAC CHANNELS, and the second is getting Motoroldla to TAKE BACK this JUNK that we call an Emergency Radio System (Cyst-Em) and replace it with one that will work.

In a phone call I had on Monday with someone in the FEDERAL Government (not our local group). I went over this system piece by piece exposing the flaws, and his office is going to start an INVESTIGATION of our WC Dept. of Emergency Management, you know... 911.

They are now reading this Blah-g and I want to say THANK YOU !

That is all I ever ask.

Start with WHO decided on 800 Mega Hurts and FIRE THEM. Then find out WHO signed the contract. FIRE THEM. Then find out WHO GAVE THE OK to put this thing in operation AFTER the initial tests FAILED. FIRE THEM.

The Blah-ger is smiling…

Have a Great Day !
