Well, I sat here without internet service again last night, how lovely it is. No one can IM me, no email to read, just me and the quite sounds of several scanners blaring, TV on high and the ham radio on 7.233.5 Mhz. Peace and Quiet !

Friday Night has proven to be just an ordinary Friday Night. I heard that two guys were knocking each other senseless in Mechesneytown (above Latrobe), a stolen car, a big bar fight, one in custody in Vandergrift and a light pole on fire in Unity Township. Further I received the following email this morning from GMan;

Wash. Twp. had a suspicious one vehicle 10-45 on Rt. 366 early this morning. There were no occupants on scene when units arrived, indicating the people involved were probably uninjured and ran from the scene on foot (gee... wonder why?). Wash. Twp. sent word via 911 to alert Plum & Murrysville to BOLO for anyone walking along the road away from the area. Word was passed, but no results were reported. After about 30 minutes, a curt call came from our Officer Vinny (I believe he was unmarked car unit 5-53 on this shift) "5-53 to 5-50, come up here 100 yards past the last truck.... I have one at gun point!" Officer Vinny's good police senses along with his keen hearing helped him locate one of the vehicles occupants hiding in the woods not far from the scene, just off the road. After officer 5-53 ran down and arrived to assist, the actor was in custody. They then used Wash. Twp. Rescue 102's (who was already on scene from the 10-45 call) thermal imaging camera to locate another actor (female juvenile) also imitating a ground hog in the nearby weeds. Two in custody now, and OLN's being run along with 30's checks (Perps were apparently from New Ken... what a shock!). Statements by the two actors indicated that there might be a third also hiding. Rescue 102 once again aimed their thermal imaging camera into the woods like an infrared searchlight. Asst. Chief 102 asked Rescue 102 to turn off its on-board flood lights to allow the camera to "see" better in the dark. A neighbor's dogs were heard barking not far away, and Murrysville PD was asked to roll a unit in that direction to have a look. Murrysville PD offered their K-9 Unit, but W.T. Officer Huth (who was 5-50 I believe) called them off. The two in custody were given an all expenses paid ride to the W.T. lockup. The vehicle was towed.

As I finish this, Arnold PD being dispatched to the area of Dave's Mini-Mart (1396 4th Ave.) for a drive by shooting. 18 yr. old male shot in the hand. Black Monte Carlo is shooter suspect's vehicle. 9-33 & 9-34 responding, & New Ken EMS Medic 125 in place of Arnold 101.

This business of fire departments jumping on TG 200 to ask where the fire is or what their TAC Channel should be is getting a bit out of hand. Each time a fire department gets on TG200 (fire dispatch) 911 YELLS at them. They say “DO NOT TRANSMIT ON FIRE DISPATCH”. They never say what the punishment is for doing so. Like,

Do not transmit on fire dispatch or I’ll rip your tongue out.
Do not transmit on fire dispatch or your first born is mine !
Do not transmit on fire dispatch as it’s only for the big boyz !
Do not transmit on fire dispatch or I will tie your fire trucks together.
Do not transmit on fire dispatch or I’ll cry.

There is something about FIRE DISPATCH 200 that puzzles me. If that was meant ONLY for 911’s use then WHY THE HELL was the transmit enabled in every fire radio in the field ? Transmit should have been DISABLED so that TG200 was receive only.

Doesn’t take a transistorized monkey with a blown out diode to figure that out.

Next time 911 Transmits on TG 70 (District 5 PD) Tell them to get off the POLICE ONLY frequency !!

In my beginning BLAH-GS I ran stories about FRICK and FRACK. ( oh the memories ) Well, I never released the officers real names ! I’m just curious if anyone has a guess as to who the real Frick and Frack are. I know who they are, I invented them.

KDKA

Most of the BIG happenings that you see here are also seen on KDKA NEWS, Channel 2 in Pittsburgh. The BOOGER happens to know several of the folks at that organization and speak to them regularly ! When news happens, this Booger and KDKA are there ! Say Hi to Molly for me.

MEETING PLACE

The conventional scanners still yield some important information. Just last night I heard at least three state troopers spend about 10 minutes on TAC 1 deciding where to EAT. They finally made up their collective state minds and went to the SUBWAY near Rt. 30 and Rt. 981. One wanted a meatball sandwich while the other was hungry for ham and cheese. Heaven only knows what the third one ate.

There is this one state trooper, I’ll just call him TROOPER LOY that seems to be the most energetic and always takes the lead in whatever is happening. They always see to give him the fastest State Trooper Cruiser that will only go CODE 3 ! Just soo much fun to listen to. Reminds me of the 1 ADAM 12 days with REED and MALLOY.
