Don't Shoot, I didn't install the DAMN THING !
Greetings from my planet… the one with an emergency communications system that works !
Things at the Westmoreland County 911 Center are about the same, a little fighting here and there but nothing to write in a Blah-g about.
I do believe that since half of the FIRST REPONDERS read the Blah-g every day, the words " DEAD " and " SPOT " have become everyday household words. Listening to my scanner I am hearing the firemen and police say " I'm in a DEAD SPOT, can you still hear me " or " I'll be in a DEAD SPOT SOON so you might lose me ".
I'm very thankful for the readership and hope that what I am doing will, in the end, get you a radio system you can trust without those DAMN DEAD SPOTS or USING THOSE WORDS !
I'm hoping for something small to happen this month that will trigger something even bigger in the up coming months. PRAY with me !
Besides the audio files that I’ve been working on I also found some old documents from the 911 center dating to 1984 ! I think I might have mentioned that before but I sort of forgot… Hell, I can’t remember what the Stooges did this morning so how can I remember a few weeks back !
Either way, I thought I would start a section on my website for older 911 information. Most people can look up the WC 911's center’s history by doing a Google search (unless you are in China) but they won’t be able to see actual photos, documents and notes from the past.
I have posted the 3 documents that I found on my website and now I’m calling for all Dispatchers, Past and Present… to send me older information so we can all see what it was like “back in the daze”.
There should be quite a lot of stuff floating around, especially from the Good Days of Dick Hunger and the crew. You might even have some of this information around your house if you were a fire fighter or retired policeman.
Whoever and wherever you are, if you have any of the yesteryear stuff that others might be interested in seeing please email me with it. If it is too big or bulky to email, send it to my operational center. Email me for the address because if I told you to mail it to 320 James Street in Latrobe, Pa. 15650 then everyone would know where I live. Right ?

The winner of January 2006’s Tips Contest, Sam Bray received his CD today and he emailed me with some nice comments. Thanks Sam !
He also wondered why more people, especially those that use these 800 Meggi Hurts radios on a daily basis and those that provide a lot of information to me on how bad they work in this county haven’t come forward and used their “real names” like he did. He said something to the effect that Everyone can’t have the same name, Anonymous !
If more people would come forward and allow me to use their real names a lot more would get done in this county as far as this radio system getting fixed !
If I could say that Police Chief Randy Cantransmit from Upper Whoopsville emailed me today stating that his 800 meggi-hurts radio would not transmit and he had a prisoner that was violent and needed assistance and his foot was caught in a revolving door while the door was being cleaned and the manager wasn’t there yet and it was near closing time and his watch was set wrong but it was just fixed and he paid too much to the watch maker…
THEN I would have some good EVIDENCE of this SYSTEM not working right AND it would be from a CREDITABLE SOURCE !
Mark Brammell would probably blame the radio not working on the watch maker though!
OR, if Firefighter Jake Flameberry would email me stating that he was at a working house fire and he was attempting to save a trapped kitty cat from the burning house but a bag of kitty litter fell on him, so he pressed his emergency button and nothing happened because he was in a DEAD SPOT ! So he grabbled the radio and tried to speak into the mic to yell for help but still nothing happened except some beeps from his radio saying he was out of range of a tower site so he died but came back to life to tell me this amazing story !
Richard Matason would probably blame the radio failure on the pussy!
Of course I own my strange humor, bought and paid for ! No one can take it away from me ! I also own my own conviction to getting this Westmoreland County Radio Cyst-Em up and running correctly. And no one can take that away from me either !
I HAVE HEARD STORIES THAT WOULD CURL YOUR TOES about what goes on with the EQUIPMENT at 911 ! These people that tell me those stories will NOT allow me to use their names.
They trust me (thank you !) enough to tell me what goes on and know that I will not use there names BUT I’m in a finken dilly because without a REAL NAME the story is just that, a story.
PLEASE PEOPLE, be more like Sam Bray and tell me stuff that I can use as well as allowing me to post your name beside the incident !! Please, please, please … I’m being polite here !

There are TWO 911 dispatchers that email me all the time and I would love for them to go public.
They are afraid of losing their jobs over letting me use their names. In a way I don’t blame them however if they want this system fixed like they do, they are almost going to have to use their real names at some point, if they want things fixed. Mark Brammell has already stated that if he catches the people from the 911 center that are emailing me he will FIRE THEM !
Almost everyone that emails me KNOWS that this county has DEAD SPOTS and that 800 Mega Hertz (see, I do know the right way to write it, you’ll be damned !!) will NOT work here in Westmoreland County, Pa.
MAYBE THAT IS WHY RICHARD MATASON AND MARK BRAMMELL DO NOT EMAIL ME !
In fact, neither have EVER emailed me. They will email friends of mine, but not me. NONE of the Commissioner have ever emailed me, especially TOM BALYA, however he has emailed friends of mine. People in the commissioners office have emailed me with some good tips but NOT the commissioners themselves.
Well, I'm here to say that when I'm RICH and FAMOUS, ah let's leave out the Rich part... but FAMOUS, I Promise I will NOT SHARE MY TOYS with Richard Matason, Mark Brammell or any of the Commissioners !! So there !
Hey, I gotta run for now but I have one last thought ozzing out of my ears.
Lets say for a moment that 911 orders 15 new 800 Mhz Frequencies for this system and puts up 15 new towers in Westmoreland County. Then they upgrade their software CAD ( Computer Aided Dispatch ) system and bought 5 new consoles and hired 10 more employees....
THIS SYSTEM STILL WILL NOT BE ANY BETTER.
What will make this system work is a change in frequencies and to do a commercial radio propagation report for those new frequencies so we know where to correctly put the tower sites. The trunking system CAN still be used. There is nothing wrong with a trunked radio system (TRS) IF IT IS DESIGNED RIGHT.
The system we have now was NOT DESIGNED PROPERLY and is so flawed that it is like a LOADED GUN waiting to SHOOT someone !
Ok, with that I have my clothes in the furnace and I forgot to use starch ! Many folks have told me that I have taken too much of my humor out of the Blah-gs and they want it back. I hope and smell that I have please those peoples today. Otherwise you'll just have to buy yourself a highly visable Slime Green Jacket and go stop traffic somewhere.
