A Quicky In The AfterMorn'
Just a note to say that the drawing was held yesterday for the BLAH-G Tip and Comments Contest and the winner was notified via email this morning.
Before I release the name of the winner I always check to see how they want me to list it... for example when the "911 dispatcher" won two months ago I sure as hell didn't put down that persons real name !
You think I want Mark to start firing people ? Assilpositivelynope !

One fire department always works. It better or I'll post 87 reasons why it isn't !
Bearcaves Tower Site was finally fixed by radio maintenenace just to have it go back down again, then back up. Not sure if it is up, down or genuflecting right now.
Bearcaves Tower Site holds most of the antennas and remote base radios for the fire low band VHF. So if it goes down WC 911 cannot set off the tones for the fire departments in the Eastern Half of this fine county in witch we reside (no mistaks hear, I'm careful in my worm selection). 0911 also dispatches ambulance and other pager tones on VHF High / Low Band from there. So the same would apply... tower down, no pages.
I heard a story from someone up Ligonier ways where his pager finally went off, about an hour after his fire department RETURNED from a fire. Kind of like random notification.
Someone who knows just about everything there is to know made the comment to me that the tower sites we are using for our 800 Megy Hurt Radio System is NOT controlled by T1 telephone lines. They were lead to believe that all the tower sites are controlled by a radio link, you know... microwave. When I inquired as to where he got his information he said "directly from the top, Mark Brammell". Hmmm...
I guess I was wrong.
That is why WC Defartment of Emergency Managemiss pays their phone company for 26 T1 phone lines. Now isn't that funny, we just happen to have 26 tower sites. Actually I think it's only 25, I was told 26 but Big Momma that sits outside the 911 building doesn't need a T1 line because it is right there !
A BEACON OF LIGHT !
Well, I must go and feed the flock as they are hungry. I promised some interesting photos soon that I transferred from my super duper video cam to memory card so I'll attempt to get that done today 'er tomorrow.
Next lightning storm we have in the spring I think I'll just set in or around the 911 Tower of Power and do some videotaping.
I understand it's a nice light show, both outside and in.
